Long Description |
Most people think of it as the “Just
Like Home” restaurant, some might remember it as the old “A
and W” drive up restaurant, but before all of this, it was just
an empty lot with the house of Manito’s only dentist Dr. William
Hodkinson behind it. After that, it was sold in 1953 to John and Mary
Thompson.
Their son Harold Thompson and his wife Donna decided to build a business on the property, because they knew its location on the Manito blacktop would be very profitable. It was finally finished July 1955, and Harold and Donna worked there until they retired twenty-one years later. The property is now owned by Rebecca Switzer. Currently, the building is now “Just Like Home” and was opened in 2005. |
